So well said! What’s happening in Karnataka is not only unprecedented but has brought us on the brink of a Civil war, sadly this is what the BJP/RSS want and they will keep on pushing the Muslims till the situation becomes like a civil war and then they would tell the Hindus, we told you so, you need us to save you. Game over for india that we know 😞

Very nicely summed up whole issue, which actually is non issue but fabricated and created by BJP karnataka Govt. I think Muslim communities have to devise Gandhian ways to tackle this problem. Clear example is Farmer movement etc. These people (Sanghis) should be ignored at all cost to blunt their nefarious design.

Excellent article. One of your best I have read so far. Normally I am used to reading your articles based on economic issues of which I understand very little. This needs wide circulation all over India.

I thank them today for showing the path to other youngsters who value being #Indian. The divide n rule politics is at their display and only education can eradicate it.

What the hell is going on in our country? We know that this hijab thing is not out of any new found love for French style secularism, it is just to target our Muslim sisters like earlier Tabhlighi jamaat was used to target an entire community. All this hate spreading by main stream media, hate speeches, genocide calls, vandalizing of churches, is nothing less than the murder of the constitution every single day. Every day we hit a new low, just when we think we cannot go any further down. The coward justice of India (CJI) does little more than saying a nicely worded sentence every now and then.

Why is this not being politically challenged? Where is the opposition? Have they completely forgot how a democracy works? Where are the headline grabbing drama that Indian democracy is known for? Where are the continuous hunger strikes of beloved people, the PAN India candle light marches, the blockades of roads, cities, minister's houses until bills are passed or until goons are arrested? GOI is currently even reluctant to take a stand on Marital Rape. Why is #LadkiHoonLadSaktiHoon not cornering them on this? Not by a single tweet on twitter, but on the streets!!! Even if an all women protest is started and sustained just in the Delhi region like Anna (fraud), it will set the anti incumbency ball rolling. Just on google there are so so many innovative ways to protest and get the point to the masses even in a compromised media and COVID times.

Based on all signs right now, there is no hope from the Congress at least. It looks like a headless chicken just flapping it's wings and staying in the same place right now. We are closer to the next Lok Sabha elections than the previous one and they do not even have a permanent president. Worse, the sitting president is not even calling the shots. We all know who is. Even worse, the person calling the shots disappears abroad half of the time. The only thing Congress does is some photo ops after an incident like Lakhimpur Kheri or that once a year speech in parliament or that useless twitter trend called #RahulGandhiMyLeader. Kejirwal takes the 'Delhi Model' to all states. The only model the congress is carrying to poll bound states is pure chaos and infighting in all it's existing states. What is this obsession with the Gandhis? They are not Gods in human form. Rahul has been overwhelmingly rejected by the people twice. Why not just move on?!! Our Democracy depends on it. We should act like it. To give the same options for people to choose from for the third time would actually be a snub to the electorate.

This is a long fight that we have to sustain against the RSS. Based on how casually the congress are taking it right now, there are no signs that they will take it seriously once in power, if at all. They are not up for it in their current form.

We have forgotten how to consistently protest and gherao our netas for things we want to see in our country.

Heard that the girls were in pre university that is 11th ! So they can't be more than 16 ! Anyway this sudden order not to wear scarves is not ok and even if they wear a burkha they are protecting themselves from harassement on the way to college and probably take it off inside school,!

Sonali Ranade, you would be my daughter’s age perhaps, but you teach me something through your writing every time I read one of your articles. I am amazed by the clarity of your thoughts. Thank you.

Sonali has put across her views cogently. I agree with what she says. The Sanghis have already divided the adult population. Now they are bent upon dividing school children too. God help us.

Nicely put across. Such organizations are a danger to the idea of a progressive India. We have to stand up to them and beat them at their game.
