Progressively are minds are being conditioned to replace disagreements with discord, dislike with hate and ideological orientation with dogmatic compliance.

The metaphor of a Rabbit Hole is quite apt indeed.

Did you question the burning alive of Hindus on the train in Godra? Do you think a community will not retaliate when they see their people slaughtered? How many more Hindu genocide will it take? Till we lose our own, we never understand the trauma. But it has happened to us thru our ancestors who were raped and plundered and converted. You are a product of that trauma, you and I.

Past cannot be glorious and humiliating at the same time...

Selective choice of historical incidents to create a narrative and then direct them to generate hate amongst communities. While the people who organise this sit behind piles of cash and govt provided security for self and their families gloating at their machinations.

Maybe your senior civil servant Yoda was right - rather than getting worked over what you think is right or wrong, focus on order and normality. Your truth and morals too, would be ‘situational’, built on your peculiar history, and upbringing.

Assuming everyone needs to be in consonance of ‘your truth’ seems quite egotistical, and presumptive of you.

In any large population having diversity of opinions is a given - let’s not try to make the others mirror images of us.

An astonishing दिल की बात। The Illuminated is as sophisticated in the quality of its prose as it is provocative in its thematic focus on questions of identity. Brilliantly articulated history is rewritten so many times by so many by governments that it eventually becomes not what it actually was but what we want it to be.
