Harish Khare’s article “It Is G2 Versus 2G…or Four Against a Billion” can be read here. The text of the article is in the first column, and my response to it in the second column, in the appended screenshots.
My only intention here is to explore what makes such of trope, founded in false equivalence possible, and what gives currency to such false equivalences.
Those of you who follow me on twitter will know I am a fan of Khare’s incisive writing. So this not a take-down. or in any sense a mark of disrespect for him, his views, or his writing.
Just that I want to understand how one can equate a down-to-heel, out-of-power, G2 with 2G, ignoring the the ideologies they come embedded in.
